What Prado Rims Fit HiLux?
There are a range of Toyota Rims that will fit your HiLux. Some that might actually surprise you! On the modern Toyota’s (post 2015) you can fit most Fortuna, Prado, FJ Cruiser and Kluger wheels to your HiLux, so if you’ve seen a Toyota listed with wheels that you like. Chances are they will fit. We stock a range of wheels that will fit this description such as these Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Rims or if you’re in a Work Mate/SR model, you can upgrade to an SR5 2018 Toyota HiLux rim however the most popular at the moment is the 2021 SR5 wheel, however these aren’t always on the website as are difficult to get hold of. Got your heart set on that style? Give us a shout and we’ll source you a set.
What are the best tyres for Hilux?
We could and will do a full article just on the best tyres for a HiLux. However, the first question I will always ask in response is ”what are you using the Ute for?” There is a link here and the Tyre Review site in general is great for information, and we are massive tyre geeks here at The Wheel & Tyre Shop, so even if you just want a chat, we’ll be happy to help.
But based on the above question we’ll be able to recommend you the best tyres if it’s ripping up the track or the beach.
What Stud Pattern is a Hilux
There is a great table above with some details on stud patterns. Most modern HiLux rims in Australia are 6X139 PCD often referred to as ‘6 studs’ please check your specific HiLux before buying, but chances are if it’s a 6 stud you’re pretty safe.
Can I put Wider Tyres on my stock rims
We’re asked this question a lot and the honest answer is ‘It depends’. Most of the time the answer is yes, but there are examples when you shouldn’t, if you have a particularly large with over the rim the tyre may not fit and hold air, or it could be easily dismounted from the rim, which (trust us) isn’t fun when you’re on Moreton Island and don’t have a spare. We’re happy to advise you on the best tyres for your rims and when we’re pushing the limits.
4X4 Rim Types
As mentioned above, the Toyota Hilux Rim is very versatile and straight swaps with a large number of other Toyota Models. The main ones being the Toyota Landcruiser Prado, The Toyota Fortuna, Klugar, and FJ Cruiser. Offering a wide range of options depending on your usage requirements and tastes.
Another option is to go aftermarket. We’re huge advocates for OEM wheels, as the original manufacturer usually knows best. But, that’s not to say there are great aftermarket options available. We’ve a huge range of different Rim Types available, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do for you.
